Wow I haven’t written a personal post in awhile and I totally abandoned my 52 week project, oops! Well things got busy life definitely has gotten busy these past few months. This past weekend as most of you know we got hit with lil ol Hurricane Irene. Thankfully we didn’t have any crazy damage to our home just flooding to our basement but we have been with no power for 3 days now, so other then that we are ok! Below is a pic John took of me down the street, this is a main st. in our town that over flooded from the canal, I had my camera and was documenting 😉 . I look a mess that’s after working in our wet basement and not showering all day LOL 😛
On a totally other note. In May actually my husband and I found out we were having a baby, eeek! So much for margaritas that night we found out (which I was really really craving and still am) we waited a little while to share with everyone until it was confirmed and it surely was confirmed with an ultrasound that yes we were 100% prego! I am now at 21 weeks and feeling great, the first few months were not easy I was super tired and in bed by 8pm and well I didn’t want anything to do with blogging, shooting or editing that’s how out of it I was. Luckily I haven’t gotten sick at all and I am so thankful for that because that had to be my number one fear. I have already shared this news with family and friends of course but I thought why not finally blog about it and share with readers. A big thank you to all my couples for 2011 that have been very understanding and supportive of the situation, it has definitely made for an interesting wedding season but so far so good! My last wedding of the year will be 11/11/11 and after November I am pretty much putting myself on leave because I will be a big bubble by then and well I don’t want to risk anything. So during December through March I will not be shooting, although that makes me sad I feel it will be the best choice for us and for my own sanity! I look forward to 2012 and the new wedding season and can’t wait to work with some great couples!!!
Two weeks ago we finally found out if we are having a boy or a girl! Family and friends were split on their vote pretty much and I didn’t really have any feelings of what it could be and well John refused to think it was anything but a boy ( he is a little scared of raising a girl lol) . To me going by all the myths I read and was told all signs pointed to boy and John’s side of the family is mostly boys my side its almost even so who could have guessed really! We finally had our ultrasound appointment to find out and we asked the technician to please seal the results in an envelope and our plan was to have a little baby reveal dinner at home with family so we could all find out at once what the gender would be! Why did we do this? Well I didn’t want to know the gender but John did so we compromised that this would be a fun way for me to still be surprised and he then would also get to know what it was! We took the sealed results over to a local bakery and asked them to please bake us a cake and color the inside pink or blue according to the results and to please cover it in white frosting with a big ole question mark! The day of the dinner arrived soon after and we cut the cake for dessert and well…..
Making sure John is ready to cut this cake!
Oh man…. LOL I was super surprised as you can tell! That’s me cracking up because well I did not expect girl! I must say I debunked all myths of signs your having a boy LOL, we popped some pink bubbly to celebrate, don’t worry I didn’t have any 😛 John still coming to terms with the results LOL… he is much better now and is accepting the fact that he will have a daughter and is preparing with some reading materials LOL Yea it’s pink….yummy cake!
