What a great way to end this 2011 wedding season with such a beautiful and sweet couple. Although I am sad that the wedding season is over for me, let’s face it I cannot shoot anymore LOL. I am 35 weeks into my pregnancy and although if it was up to me alone I would probably keep shooting but I promised myself and John that I was done no more shooting at all till March 2012, waaaaah! But of course I will be shooting little Bella when she arrives (that sounds funny haha).
Ok back to Wendy & Bryan! It was so great to see them both again, although I had seen Wendy a few months before wedding day because she surprised her groom with a boudoir album (yay!) we had a lot of fun at that session. The two of them are too cute together and Bryan was really as sweet as can be with her. They both decided on doing a first look and I think it was the perfect decision for them! We had A LOT of time for photos before the ceremony and they were able to enjoy their entire cocktail hour and relax before the ceremony and it was just a 100% stress free day in my opinion. Now I am not a big advocate of doing a first look ( I don’t push for it if I am given enough time after ceremony to do my thang 😉 ), but if you truly want to enjoy every aspect of your big day and you want time for your photos then I highly recommend it! It also was super helpful because their ceremony wasn’t till after 6pm and well sunset in November is about 4:45pm so we did the first look at about 3:40pm and we got the most gorgeous light for photos, it was perfect and made me one happy girl!! Remember brides and grooms to be, you need to take into consideration what time the sun sets if you want photos outside 😉 keep that in mind!
Wendy & Bryan, Thank you so much for having me be a part of your big day! I know you both waited a long time for for your wedding day and it couldn’t have turned out better. You two are so sweet and kind and it was a pleasure spending the day with both your families. I am wishing you both all the best and lots of happiness!
The day started out at the Colonial Inn located in Smithville. This was my first time going to Smithville and what a cute little charming “town”, it felt like a little Christmas town
In the meantime Meridith was second shooting with me for the day, she was with the guys getting ready to prep Bryan for the first look!
Time for the first lookit was a little tough since there were so many people, but thank you to Wendy’s sister for stopping traffic on the other end of the bridge for their moment! I must admit I was nervous lol maybe more then Wendy haha I don’t know why 😉
The light was PERFECT for photos, ohhh sun flare I <3 you :::sigh:::Â …I had SOOO much time with them for photos after the first look, about 2 hours and we got so many great shots and got all the family photos done with time to spare to let everyone relax before the ceremony and enjoy their cocktail hour! Beautiful fall colors + beautiful light + couple truly in love= happy photographer …
We then headed into the Smithville Inn for a few shots, to warm up a bit and let them get a breather (because I am nice like that LOL and because we had time 😉 )
Before the ceremony started I spotted the lawn area with Christmas lights, well if you don’t know Christmas lights mean BOKEH madness and I took full advantage. Although I am not a big night shooter I wanted to give it a go and try something new and it was so worth it! I think these came out awesome, bottom shot is Meridith’s we both were gaga with the Christmas lights, hehe!
Wendy & Bryan were such great sports, so relaxed and up for anything, thank you both for braving the cold!
